At least for the time being, no more iOS builds will be forthcoming. I’m not going out of my way to fix it immediately.

With only a small fraction of the playerbase ever even touching the iOS builds, and an even tinier fraction restricted to only the iOS builds, I don’t blame you. It sucks for those who liked it, but it seems too troublesome to keep working 100% of the time.

The three actual tasks (x86 Android, Arm Android, iOS) were handled together under the banner of “Mobile Builds”, but the only part of that actually having an issue is the iOS part.

I totally understand not letting iOS hold up progress, but I am sad I won’t be able to keep my iPad up to date. (Yes for those who ask, I voted in the poll.)
If you don’t keep up with the iOS update by update, the possibility of an iOS update will shrink to nothingness as updates occur, yes? Due to the size of the code changes after, for example, ship combat is implemented?
Pretty much. There’s a lot of little weird things that the iOS conversion shits itself over; things that are legal AS3 and we have (had) no problem using elsewhere, things that I tend to build around automatically because they make sense to me. (I seem to recall one of the most annoying was static const properties I use for index/special values: there are certain places they can be put in the code that are perfectly fine AS3, but the iOS conversion will fail over.)
I have to track all of those down, wherever they’ve wormed themselves in the intervening time, and fix them. And do it without any actual indication of where the problems are.
I’d say it’s more likely we’d end up with a fundamentally different way to build the game (ie, the fabled conversion away from Flash to HTML5/JS) before we saw another iOS build, unless somebody else jumps in on the public source and figures it out. With a modicum of technical knowledge it’s not a particularly hard job, just potentially very time consuming.

Slowly but surely. There’s a lot of different components that all have to come together to make it happen, and at least some of them all have to be present for me to really start being able to test things and speed along a bit better than I am right now.
Well…at least it’s coming along nicely, now what was I going to say… oh yeah!!! I had an idea for an optional perk, considering that the TiTS verse is like what 2000 years from now? Wouldn’t it be possible to have nanomachine laced regeneration? As in,5-10 points of health regen per turn?
That would completely and utterly break the balance in combat. No. Bad.
If anyone wants to play the game on their iOS device and has access to internet, it may be a bit awkward but Puffin Browser (free) allows Flash games to run and pretty decently, even has a fullscreen option.
Yeah, i use that too only problem is the fact that you cant save weird enough though i used to be able to save FOE but now i cant wonder what happened
iirc its because Puffin actually doesn’t run the game on your device; it runs it on a remote server machine and shuttles the visuals to the device. Hence why I’ve never been a huge fan of it and never recommend it myself :^)
