Just a heads up that I’m hearing a lot of reports that the newest Chrome update is finally killing in-browser flash for a lot of people. If for some reason it hasn’t, prepare yourself. It will.
You can either grab a standalone flash player to open the .swf OR grab the adobe air version we have nicely packaged with an exe to play the game. Just download the zip, dump it into a folder somewhere, and run the .exe.
Wow, that really grinds my gears.
Really ignites my raging wildfire.
Activates my almonds.
Really fries my circuits.
Really rustles my jimmies.
Tickles my tackle.
Good thing I use Firefox. =3
It’s never a good thing to use firefox, I’d rather have a small temporary issue than be disabled for the long haul.
Pale Moon still support Flash and plan to do so forever.
🙁
Guess I’ll finally have to migrate my chrome saves to wherever they’ll need to be now.
Shit happens and you gotta adapt and make the best out of a bad situation
shit happens because google devs have their heads so far up one another’s asses they can see what they had for dinner last night, and can’t accept the SLIGHTEST bit of constructive feedback(and removing “experimental” settings that worked perfectly fine without giving a solid answer why, beyond the trained monkey replies their customer service desk gives)(also applies to youtube)
Question: How do i import my saves to that flash player from chrome?
Also Fuck Chrome indeed
Save to file. Then put that file somewhere you’ll remember it. When you want to use it, load file from that location.
You can also look up how to find your Chrome flash data and just copy that manually, then use Load File in the standalone exe or another browser.
Possibly easier: download TiTsEd, it finds the saves for you, then after opening the file from the menu ending in (Chrome) you just ‘Save As’ to Export a file that you can open with ‘Load File’
https://github.com/Chase-san/TiTsEd/releases
^This. It’s what I had to do when Flash was dropped
I exported my save, came out as a .sol file, but when i try to load a file it cannot find the save.
The save needs to be a .tits file for load file.
There’s an Import Saves button in the data menu.
You can use the trick I use:
1) Open a new text file with notepad (or equivalent), and input the following text:
2) Save as an .html file in the same folder as the TiTS swf file.
3) Open that html file in Chrome (drag and drop works).
4) Chrome should run the .swf as normal, you can load your saves, and save them to file if you choose.
“”
object type=”application/x-shockwave-flash” data=”TiTS_0.7.214.swf” width=”100%” height=”100%”></object
Sorry, it took a couple of attempts to figure out how to post html script strings. Use the text above in the text-to-html file and add a “” at the end.
Grrrrrr. Add a “open angel bracket” at the begining, and a “close angel bracket” at the end.
or you could get firefox you can still get the flush plugin for it
Its not like there wasn’t a 5 year heads up or anything…
Quiet you, there’s no room for reasonable comments in the “fuck chrome” train.
Yep. Fuck Chrome. It’s why I use firefox as my web browser, and use the standalone flashplayer for TiTs and CoC.
well now firefox seems to auto block any flash and i have to click play
nevermind im dumb, turns out my flash was out of date 😛
i mean firefox is going to do it soon, too, lol. google just pulled the trigger first
By standalone, do you mean the non-debug version of the “projector” which is listed here:
https://www.adobe.com/support/flashplayer/debug_downloads.html
Yeah, happened to me last week so I just fully switched to Firefox
Huh. the only thing i really noticed was that it asked me to allow flash again. if anything i thick only uninstalled flash from chrome since it go renovated.
Just use Firefox instead been using it for over 15 years and have never had a problem with it. Ive been happy.
A simple Wrapper can take care of the issue on local machines. I have a couple just for Flash games.
Yep, now whenever i try to open the .swf on Chrome, it just downloads itself indefinitely.
RIP saves.
workaround to recover your saves, DL TitsED(save editor), open it, look where your saves are stored, open that directory, copy them, then grab the standalone and use TitsED to look where the saves go in there(make a dummy save if need be)
i know ill prob get flak for suggesting using a save editor, but idc
So I’ve done that, but it pulls a .sol file.
Now when I try to load a file into tits, it’s looking for a .tits file.
So it doesn’t see the .sol file at all.
Create a save in the standalone, then use titsed to find the directory where the standalone stores saves. Copy the chrome .sol files to the standalone directory, and you should be able to play it again
ROFL i could not plat swf games in chrome for like 2 years now nothing new ,it always just downloded the file gain
All Chrome has done is make it ask to activate flash for me currently with the update.
I had the same problem but I can still play. Next to the URL there’s a lock. Click on it, go to flash, change to allow, and reload to apply the new settings. It’s a shame this has to be done every time I try to play though.
I wish this could be bumped to the top. A simple fix for it.
Fuck flash. If the plugin didn’t have so many security issues (due to its fundamentally broken design) then there wouldn’t be a huge push to get rid of it. Anyone who cares about security has already gotten rid of the plugin since it’s so dangerous (security issues *do not* get patched — Adobe has no plan to add mitigation in flash for the recent Spectre vulnerability among many other). Firefox and Edge have plans to drop it too (you have ~1 more year). BTW, Flash will also no longer be supported by Adobe in 2020, so you would want to start migrating anything you care about if you want to run it next decade..
For now, I would recommend the standalone player for everyone. Treat every flash app as if it was running with full user privileges and treat them with the same suspicion you would to running an exe file (since the sandbox is broken).

It might be a good idea to put a tutorial on how to get a standalone flashplayer. I might be a bit slow, but it took a while for me to find out how to do it. Maybe place a link to the downloads?
I used to chrome, then my laptop broke. Thank you for the heads up
Internet Explorer Master Race confirmed! Muahahahahaha!
Your time will come:
https://blogs.windows.com/msedgedev/2017/07/25/flash-on-windows-timeline/
eh I never liked Chrome to being with. I use Waterfox.
FYI Chrome has not gotten rid of flash yet. See their timeline:
https://www.chromium.org/flash-roadmap
The most recent change:
Sites using Flash will require explicit permission to run, every time the user restarts the browser.
All I had to do was click the lock icon and tell it to allow flash.
I got a standalone player a while ago. I would highly recommend it. You can trust it to work, the saves are less likely to get deleted by a cleaning program, and it useful to have if you have more flash files then just TiTs. I find it nice to be able to click on the flash videos I downloaded and knowing they will just play.
I wouldn’t know. I’ve been using the AIR version.
I found a flag that fixed it. Was a totally new flag that was something like “use ephemeral flash settings” that fixed it. It SHOULDN’T have fixed it, but it did.
Thanks for the Info.
yup that absolutely fixed it for me as well just now
Seems to work for me, it just asks if I want to enable flash then runs it like normal when I say yes
R.I.P. all my saves and my ability to play CoC. Although I can still probably play it on internet explorer I believe.
There is an easy fix i think, mine came up with a window with a “flash player needed”. I clicked the icon, a message bar poped up in a corner asking to allow the flash to work and i said yes…it works fine? i ma have a flash player already downloaded but i am not 100% sure. hope this helps.
Why no use Firefox? Chrome is just… A bad browser
I use internet explorer to run trials, it’s as fast as lighting!
By the way that isn’t a joke.
It’s the same for firefox. Though there is some way to make it work by going in the config.
Can anyone suggest a good standalone player and maybe post a link? It is proving surprisingly difficult for me to find one. I have been to the adobe site and there are a confusing amount of options. I used to have a version that you could execute, then browse to a .swf and run it, but i lost that and cant locate it again. I’m running windows 10. Thanks!
Oh come on fen, they’ve been talking about killing flash for a good while. Why surprised now? Besides I kept hearing from lots of people that flash was outdated and inferior to HTML and had numerous problems with it.
Sadly, most Facebook games run on Flash. I’m gonna have to use Edge to play Riddle Stones.
Flash is the single worst extant browser security vulnerability vector. Killing it was inevitable and it’s coming to the rest of the browsers, too.
I have been using the Adobe AIR version since it became available, and I really appreciate it. I still have the Standalone Flash viewer and use it for other flash games, but AIR is a good alternative, and it will auto-update, as opposed to you have to know when to download the new version of the Standalone Flash player and then go download it and put it in place.
another alternative, in any text editor;
open new document > paste [] > saveas “name.html” > run whenever. chrome allows it because reasons.
after data is the name of the file. probably gonna match this format as long as fenco continues to use that naming convention.
inside past is supposed to be
,object type=”application/x-shockwave-flash” data=”wtckD9.swf” width=”100%” height=”100%”. , /object.
replace , with not sure why the text field doesn’t just treat those as text, and instead removes them or treats them as code.
I just use the SFW player from http://www.swffileplayer.com/ because chrome stoped working for me a long time ago.
mine gone , holy s……..
I’ve always played this off browser anyway
thank god! flash should’ve died long ago,
This is actually part of why I only play in Microsoft Edge browsers. Fewer issues, and the tabs don’t get lost in my Chrome Clutter, so I can easily find them. (Because why play one game when you can switch between three or four!)
Well, maybe it’s time to go from the archiac and ancient flash that is being deprecated by more browsers than chrome to a HTML5 standard?
Easy workaround: https://gist.github.com/EsalRider/bf3735d65b6cc308c6bc43623bc281a0
Save as an HTML file next to your local game copy. Make sure that either the game has the filename “TiTS.swf” or you change line 10 so the document points to the correct file.
so glad i’m using firefox
So far as I can tell, Microsoft Edge hasn’t had any of these problems, though I always use the ‘play in window’ option, and don’t download TiTs. Since there’s a new version every month, I’m like, “What’s the point? I’ll just have to download another version in around 30 days or so.”
PLEASE! Make a masochist girl Chromie, as one of the ingame charaters XD it would be soo funny hahah.
If you just rick click site information (the little pad lock symbol on the URL bar) and set flash to “allowed” all you have to do is refresh the page and it should work in Chrome.
Firefox works just fine if anyone needs an alternative browser.
I think i figured out how to solve the Flash problem.
If anyone else noticed, every time you try to play on Chrome, it tells you that it’s blocked some cookies from a third-party website. If you open the cookie settings (found by clicking the little cookie icon in the url bar), you can see which cookies it blocked and re-allow them, then refreshing the page, which i think fixes the flash problem.
I mean its been over what? 3-4 years since they warned about the upcoming Killing Flash change?
Just Saying,
There was plenty of time to work on having another platform/base code to change/transfer the game
HTML5 * cough * Java* cough
This is just one of the reasons why I use Internet Explorer for T.i.T.S.
Where does the AIR/EXE version store it’s saves?
So what are alt. players to flash. I’m a mac user here so I can’t really jail break it. How do I play it offline?
It was mentioned earlier in the comments here, but there’s a really easy fix to this that requires no downloads.
Go to chrome://flags
Find “Enable Ephemeral Flash Permissions” and disable it.
Restart Chrome, and ta-da. Less clunky.
And if you hate the redesign of the top part and the new tab page, I got you.
Go find “UI Layout for the browser’s top chrome”, select “Normal” under the drop down (for old, pre-update chrome).
Also find “New Tab Page Material Design Icons”, and disable it. The new tabs will regain their old appearance.
If you go into the corner on the right at the top you can mess around with your setting and it should lead you to the options that will allow you to control your permissions for flash. Then simply reload the window and boom. flash suckas!
Firefox > Chrome
Mozilla isn’t run by CIA spies.
I’m not a native English speaker, and I’m not very good at English. So I’ve always use chrome to play tits with a translator page to translate some words I don’t know. ;(
FIX FOR CHROME USERS
If you go to chrome://flags/
search for flash
and disable Ephemeral Flash Permissions
it should be working again
This worked for me.
Goddamn google becoming retarded.
I been lookin for flash player for quite some time now, could somebody post the link?
