That… that’s it? THAT was Riya?! I’m actually disappointed, I didn’t know what to expect but I thought it was going to be more then that. I thought the sex scene was going to be demeaning, I thought she was going to lord her position over me, Sera does a better job then this. I was called a mutt nothing else, again I didn’t know what to expect but why are some so up in arms about this?
Sounds like you got your expectations up. No one has much of a problem with the sex other then its girls only, what people have an issue with is her unexplained and cartoonish xenophobia, degrading tone and attitude and the fact that she is literally untouchable. The player can do nothing to her in response to her attitude with the player, its a sudden lack of options for a game all about options. And some people feel the character was made to antagonize the player themselves and she is treated like a forum troll that you really want to punch but ya can’t. Smug shitty attitudes get under a lot of peoples skin and when the game itself deprives you of the power to do something about it, people feel bad, and people don’t like feeling bad in a game made to let them feel good when you fuck with peoples happiness and entertainment they take it personally, Its why people get so much more bent out of shape about video games over say a bad day at work or a minor political scandal. If your not affected by it, good on ya, but let those who are discomforted get it out of there system.
i dont like the character myself, but i think i hate her writer even more. in his submission post he was very much a huge troll so i dont think ill enjoy ANY character he writes.
Yeah he was pretty dismissive, antagonistic, and arrogant, especially to anyone critical of his work. It dose make it hard to enjoy his work if you cant separate the person from there content, but he wouldn’t be the first person here who has rubbed people the wrong way and he will not be the last. Ya just kind of have to deal with it and move on.
im not a sub myself so i cant enjoy riya to any extent, and all my characters are non human, so every character i have has punched her just to grey out her chat option. i just know to ignore Frank’s content from this point on and to dislike him as a human being as well.

Yeah, I second this. I’m really not a fan of this character for precisely these reasons. She’s a complete bitch and the game gives you absolutely nothing to do about it. I mean, sure, Sera can be a bitch too, but she’s the sexy, dominating kind of bitch, not just some bitchy racist.
Interacting with her I was at least hoping to have some chance to give her a good hatefuck, but frankly I’d settle for at least having the option to get some non-sexual revenge.
I mean, if the option to punch her was AT LEAST satisfying, that’d be something, like the obnoxious reporter in the Mass Effect games.
Like, yes, racist cops exist in real life and usually you can’t do anything about it, but we play games to ESCAPE that shit, and I definitely don’t want that shit in my PORN.
All in all, I still love this game, but this particular character has definitely been a disappointment to me, and I’d lie if I said I didn’t think the game was slightly worse off for her being in it.
Now, if she gets more content down the line, awesome, some more satisfying options with her could really reverse my opinion, but as for right now, she’s just obnoxious.

While my memory is hazy, I do remember in one of the first public builds that had her, there wasn’t a warning. I also recall the “not hero” options coming off as degrading in the past, although checking again, it’s clear that rewrites made said options as non-degrading as possible.

Not really, some people have a problem with racism sure, but having a xenophobic character in TiTS is not a bad thing. There probably are, and should be species supremacist people in the universe of TiTS, they should be present and should have a voice, it only adds to the universe of TiTS and believability of the setting. The problem here is not that she is raciest, its how she was written. Her racism is cartoonish and lazy, it is not deliverable and it adds little to her character. her beliefs are left unexplained or justified in any way. there present but they player can not interact with her beliefs, and thus they add nothing to the experience. The player is left to just assume she is a shitty person for the sake of being a shitty person and no one except a Saturday morning cartoon villain of the week is just blanketly a shitty person for no reason.
Rather then add to the worlds feel she actively detracts from it, nobody would really give a shit if she was not so unbelievably smug about it to boot. and nobody would who gave a shit about her smugness would care if they had some means of putting her in her place. you went thew the steps of providing the player a means to deal with her such as direct confrontation or reporting her and then went threw painfully unrealistic lengths to make sure they your special snowflake bigot was immune to practically anything the player could do. stating that maybe you’ll fix it in the future, that’s just antagonizing the player at that point and once you do that, some people are goign to take it personally. She becomes a pimple on the game, yeah you could ignore her but your not going to, in the back of your mind while your trying to enjoy your game every time you walk across Tavos your going to see her name, know she is a smug bitch and there is noting you can do about it. You the player are now just as frustrated and powerless as her CO is, and that is going to get under peoples skin, and not in a good way, the kind that’s makes a villain that you remember and love to hate.
Maybe it would not have been so bad if you personally had not had such a bad attitude about the whole affair, antagonizing and insulting anyone who dose not like your plot armored bigot and dismissing anyone who didn’t toe your line even when there trying to help you, as well as dismissing anyone with complaints or observations about your content and how it could be improved. Maybe I did something in a previous save, but I can’t seem to enter Myrellion. At least, the upper portion. I continue to land in the deep caves. The stairs that ascend up claim theirs radiation. Not sure what it is I did, as I was able to do my thing there before.
when you did that mission with the cat girl i forgot her name you probely blew up the station setting the selfdestruct which promted the UGC to think a war had started so they blew everything thinking the myr started thier war again causing a orbital bombing so that is why there is radiation everywhere in the top level and is off limit i did that myself so i had to restart from scratch
If you activated the self destruct on the pirate base during the Kara mission to the void base, it causes a nuke to go off on myre’s surface, the Terran and Confederation fleet sees this as the restart of the war so keeping with there promise they glass the planet, every man women child and other on the surface and upper subterranean levels are dead in plasma fire, radiation, and kinetic bombardment. Only the deep caves remain untouched. to prevent this do not activate the self destruct on the pirate base. or allow it to blow.

The wiki isn’t managed/updated by the developers (they have much better things like writing and coding to do). So normally it’s up to the players themselves to update the wiki.

5 ) Rest/Sleep and come back to the Bar or something.
6) Go to the Toilet, and Work the Glory hole for a Chance to meet them there. Which Brings your Kally/Kiro Counter up to 5 for the Threesome Scenes.

Not sure what the problem is, works just fine on my kindle. Though for some reason the icon changed now instead of the Tits logo it just says fire.
this might not work for you but it did form me you can play the game but at the moment it only when the tablet is in an upright pesion becuse when you play it in landscape it cuts of the buttons

Entire bottom row of buttons is visually missing but they are present and still active, so I can tap the spots where south, east, etc would be if I could see them and they respond normally and I move.
Is part of your screen cut off? I posted a bug report in the forums about it, but I don’t think anybody has looked at it yet. If it’s something other than your bottom row of buttons being cut off, then head over to the forums to submit a bug report.

If I download it to my phone it’s fine though. So it might just be something with tablets.
Playing on an Nvidia Shield tablet and experiencing the same. Bottom row is gone in landscape so movement is near impossible, and whatever decisions are there are gone as well. Makes it very hard to play :/

I really agree that something should be done to Riya. This is a game about options, and essentially your only options with her are to be demeaned and just let it happen, or do something and lose all chance to talk to her again in the future.
I’m seeing comments on here about how we don’t know what her views are, how she could have a perfectly good reason for her racism, etc (which in a time where it’s established that aliens are all over the place I find it unlikely to have someone be racist to ALL aliens. Maybe a species superiority complex, sure, but her level of xenophobia is to be frank cartoonish in it’s extent) and that’s all well and good, but as it stands we have no way of KNOWING those reasons. We have no way of connecting to her or even begrudgingly understanding her. Yeah, in real life racists and homophobes and all those other phobes could be counted on just saying, “I hate ___ because ___ said so,” but this isn’t real life. It’s a fictional setting with a character that can only be viewed and understood through the words of their writer, in a form of media where the viewer depends on that character being fleshed out and understood to enjoy them in that setting. And the writer obviously doesn’t have a problem paying attention to this character, from what I’ve seen.
I’ve played through every route Riya has as far as I’ve seen, and the writing is actually pretty good. Frank has had no problem writing out the details of her skin, or adding little things about her dick (the veiny details, it’s position at half mast vs. rock hard, how she was a “shower”, etc). He’s had no problem giving details at her surroundings, like how her office is sound proof, her rank, her last name, where she’s from, the fact she’s a gaming nerd, etc. There’s clearly a lot of potential and thought put into her, so I see no reason why there can’t be even hints dropped in as to why she hates literally /every/ alien species, unlockable dialog from both humans and non-humans alike. I see no reason she can’t be fleshed out further, or given more options to make her less unreachable in a game where possibilities are made to be near limitless (I mean you can have a 50+ inch dick that cums eggnog and get egged in the ass by a spider person, the sky isn’t even the limit anymore), when her creator is clearly willing to put a good deal of effort into her.
Also I’m sorry if this doesn’t read well. I’m really not the best at putting my thoughts together.

This may sound insane but I kinda like having Riya in the game. Having asshole characters kinda allows you you be an asshole back to them without feeling as bad. Heck, I can already see her being tricked by the PC into becoming Dr. Badgers newest “assistant”. Sure you can do something similar to Penny but most actually like her. I hope to see more options like this.
In theory that’s well and good except the game doesn’t actually give you a chance to be an asshole back. Really, that’s what most people are complaining about.
If the game gave you a way to put her in her place or something, then yeah, I’d be great with having her in the game.
I’m not saying that she has no potential to be an enjoyable character, just that she isn’t one right now.
Sorrry for double posting but I was overthinking about Riya, You could also use her to start some kinda quest in which Riya’s buddies in high places try to get revenge on you, and the PC has to find a way to either beat them or get them off her ass. Just some idea that popped up.

You know, my opinion on Riya aside, there is one issue I have in this whole debate, and it’s the idea that the player character shouldn’t be able to “win” against every NPC, because that makes them a “super special snowflake”. Now on one hand I can understand wanting a character that doesn’t excel at everything, however, we’ve reached the point where Steele settles so many planet scale problems just in the main story alone (universal scale if you count the more obscure side missions) that the idea that there is any individual character that they cannot deal with in some way is now patently absurd.
It’s the same issue I have with characters like Dr. Badger and Sera. My character has single handedly defeated a gang of space pirates that threatened to crack an entire planet in half, defeating their leader while she piloted a god damn giant mech suit. There is no logical reason I should have to go and report to the cops just to deal with some random badger lady when I could easily reduce her to a pile of goo in a single shot. I understand that those aren’t really super important options when the game is still so far from being complete, and I’m not saying you need to put in five thousand unique responses to every npc interaction, but they’re little concessions and inconsistencies that can over time have a negative impact on the experience. I’m just saying that while I do enjoy Sera’s company, getting to put my foot down and call her a bitch, and point out how infinitely more important and affluent I am than her would be nice every once in a while. Sometimes she needs to put a little more respeck on the name.
You agreed to the terms of the relationship with Sera, if you don’t like them you can always walk away. Frankly, you getting uppity about what a hotshot you are is something she would use to degrade you harder, since you’re obviously in need of it.
