As someone that is working on getting into making adult adventure games ( self teaching myself c# and unity right now and doing a project of trying to remake TiTS in unity to learn ) I am rather interested in the goings on behind the scenes. But I sadly will not be able to make it to the con.

2D or maybe 2.5D development would be cheaper and faster
using artist made character portraits for each npc and if after I get it running and can get funding might try for drawings to go along with some of the text scene
so more or less trying to go for a upgraded TiTS or CoC with a few more features that I think everyone would like.
Such as making a scene map in game that will unlock scenes after you have seen them as part of the game making it so the 1 off scenes can be replayed with ease as well it would allow hints on how to get each scene.
the base game would have you starting to make your own guild from scratch allowing you to recruit new “waifus” to your guild each npc ideally having there own job class that says what skills they will learn as they lvl up going with you into the dungeon.
so say I make some sort of buff blacksmith lady that might dual wield hammers when she fights with you but back at base will be in charge of making weapons and armor from the stuff you found in the dungeon.
The 1st game is mainly about world building from a development point of view that we can then use the world we made in the 1st game to make bigger and better games down the line.
The basic plot that I have so far for the game is that you would start as a kid in an orphanage ( easy to make your character what you want. ) you would meet other kids there that depending on how you act will become your life long friends and your 1st guild mates. (it’s dangerous to go alone)
at some point in early game it will be found out that you are a homunculus a artificial life form (gateway to TF’s) many parts of society looking down on artificial life and will be something that you will have to overcome.
The whole game will center on just 1 city that is built around the dungeon taking people and races from all parts of the world with each new npc you meet giving you the chance to learn more about the world and how each race and country deal with each other from racism and wars and how rich or poor and what tech lvl they are at in the set time of the game.
The world it self is a super massive planet larger then Jupiter with a solid belt around the planet that is where the bulk of the flying races live with ground races ruling the dirt and aquatic races ruling the waters of the world.
The super massive planet is 1 of the big reasons why guilds are trying to explore the dungeon to find out why the world dose not collapse in on it’s self and become a star.
The magic system is planed to be more science based (spells and Tf’s) with it likely looking more like symbology from Star Ocean or alchemy from Full Metal alchemist.
Oh and just to be clear kid stage lasts a very short amount time with everything playable with you being an adult and the current name I have is Aspirations Should Survive.
All these things you said sound amazing. You should ask FenCo. If you’re allowed to use their characters for the game. I’d love to see classic waifus like Amily or Helia return as potential guild mates, especially if there’s gonna be updated art work for them all. Pixel porn is nice and all, but if I can get the girls in HD I’d be very happy.
This game sounds a lot like the anime “Is it wrong to pick up girls in a dungeon” and “Made in abyss”. Both of which feature a large city built around a dangerous natural phenomenon that people are trying to figure out.
If you want a game that blends magic with technology you should check out “Baten Kaitos”. I never actually finished it but I like to think I got about halfway. It’s a great GameCube title with a really cool world. I really think you’ll like it.
After I have something made and can at least show that I am more then just a guy who talks I would love to offer FenCo a partnership or something in the IP or doing some cross game content with them. In fact I am trying to build the game in such a way for writers to find it easy to add new content too as well as in essence be a good game to work on between with ASS taking place in a more modern world rather then CoC (past) or TiTS. (future)
It would also give FenCo a good way to update there tech as browsers are trying to kill off action script and Unity makes it easy to port to what ever platform they want to be on and has a asset store to help make things faster in development and let us work together with other projects down the line like maybe using Yiffalicious 2 to work in animated scenes for a future game or spin-off.

For monetizing I am intending on the PC version of the game to be free to everyone after 2 months of being on Patreon and rolling updates for everyone Patreon just getting things sooner. So no big public patch but everyone will updates each week.
As well as making a point system ( 1$=1 point) that will keep track of how much each person has payed so I can do other things like working with artists to make a digital comic that would use some of the points or maybe make a dakimakura pillow for some characters that players like and the points will give you a discount on the item so it would just be at cost rather then profit.
Then I won’t be playing it, I can’t afford patreon, even if it’s only $1 a month I can’t afford it.
I can barely afford to feed myself ?. Maybe you should just ask to officially join FenCo, that way you’ll be able benefit from their resources and they can help fund you.

I would like to work with FenCo but I just don’t know if I can bring value to the team yet to justify doing so yet hence why I am working on porting TiTS to unity so that I have something to show rather then just a bunch of talk or at least that’s how I see it right now.
The reason why I didn’t care for the content you made was because it was minotaur based, and I just don’t like anything bovine related.
Plus, it’s not actually in the game, so naturally it’ll get less attention than the stuff that is in game.

It was a good read. Don’t think it get’s ignored just because there are no comments. Stuff having to do with the game will always get more comments because people will ask how to access certain quests/items/NPCs. There was nothing to ask about that story, it was just a very enjoyable read.
I rather liked it and all the male content you put out has my whole hearted approval.
Hopefully I will be at the con again this year and able to go to the panel. As well I’d love to see more male content in the game but the story was still nice. Not too big of a fan on the bovine features but any male content or malexmale content works for me.

This game doesn’t have all the bad ends that I want. Does it make it a lesser project? No, I can go elsewhere to scratch that itch without trying to fundamentally change this project.

CoC and Tits have both been catered to fantasy niche fetishes, both have disclaimers on the front page to the effect of “don’t click if the things described bother you”. If you try and make a product that attempts to be everything to everybody, you’ll get a lackluster middle-ground where nothing in particular stands out.
If the writing staff and the volunteer writers are attracted to gynocentric content but are pressured to do m/m work by people who don’t want to do it themselves, then they are being asked to fundamentally change their interests and the project.

CoC set up certain expectations, TiTs did the same. Money started getting charged for development of TiTs. People then complain when they’re told their expectations were wrong after they’d paid. If it’s going to cost money, then the “Write what you want fen.” (what you did actually say) part is going to invite grumbling.

I think for your words to make sense would require that people either have psychic powers (in order to only submit what’s going to chosen as good implementable content) or superhuman levels of politeness (not likely since payment is now a thing).
I think Fen and crew do a great job, and I think the best solution is more “flack” not less. Also, consider hiring someone new to write/code if there really is that much content being submitted by the paying customers.

While you make good points, I do take issue with one thing. By “Flack” I mean people in the comments section who complain and don’t do anything. I DO NOT say that volunteer writers create “flack” or some sort of lesser content. It’s like I kicked a hornets nest of people who want to read the absolute worst meaning out of what was written.
I explicitly mention that when I point out people who raise issues but don’t’ submit anything. I’m very much aware that much of TiT’s content is volunteer generated. Much of it very good.
Lastly, my comments aren’t about volunteer vs non-volunteer content. The penthouse vs playboy point doesn’t apply. My point was about specialization versus being everything to everyone.
If you indeed didn’t mean that attraction to the male gender wasn’t a “fetish”, then there wasn’t any point of bringing that up as an example. Writing in a male character isn’t niche, nor should requests for doing so be anywhere close to having “catering to EVERYTHING”. A significant portion of the population are attracted to males. Fenoxo & Co are supported and paid by all, and to ignore that portion of the population just because you’re attracted to otherwise, would be ignoring a significant number of your paying supporters.
Fen & Co have acknowledged it’s a problem they wish to address multiple times over the years, and I personally have been largely satisfied with their position, although others have every right to request for more males if they wish to, seeing as they also are paying the same, if not more for this game. There *is* a huge disparity in the number of male sexable characters vs dickgirls after all, especially in the crew.
Also, no where in my post, or in Fen’s post were there any indication that it was “M/M” work people were specifically asking for. Male content does not mean M/M per say, it could also include M/F, M/H, etc as well. And once again, *no*, writing in male characters, be it any of these orientations, is asking them to “fundamentally change their interests and the project”. God know’s how you got to that conclusion, but TiTS and CoC has *always* been open to all orientations, of which Fen & Co have sought to strive towards and should be commended for. It’d in fact be counter to their interests and the project for them to suddenly write only dickgirls.
Also, its not as if male characters aren’t been written. The Storm lancer mob for example, I believe sat in cold storage for at least over a year.
My comment was fine in context. The previous sentence was purely about outlets like playboy specializing in a certain type of content.
The second sentence – not based on or even immediately after the first – was about projects catering to certain fetishes. It requires an active attempt to read “orientations are fetishes” out of what was actually said, and that’s what’s under my skin.
On the matter of paid content and paid content expansion: People find projects to support that are developing in a direction they like. Lets say there’s a hypothetical project that involves content I personally am not attracted to. There’s no reason for me to support it if it does not include content that I like, and I can’t ask the creators to change for the sake of my support. If fenco did say they wanted to add more male characters and promised that as a selling point to new backers then yes, it should be included. I can admit to that point.
I can even admit that I made a mistake and mispoke about m/m content. It was not a properly thought out of filtered thought. That mistake was made defending myself from what I absolutely at not point said or suggested, that sexual orientation is equivalent to fetish. I would really appreciate if you’d stop suggesting I meant otherwise.
My point is, yes, I mis-poke to some degree. I made a mistake, but that mistake was not bringing up the example. You’re trying to link that example to a separate thought to draw a conclusion that was not explicitly stated.

I figured out how to do buttons in flash and just glued a hodge-podge of variables on top of that for my first attempt. UTG was a mess. CoC was a mess. TiTS is still kind of a mess.

I’m more into reptiles and birds, and of course all the adorable ausars. I’m even cool with bugs as long as they’re cute, just not big on cows. My favorite CoC characters were Amily and Helia, everyone else was expendable, especially the cows.

I never actually hatched Ember, I wanted to wait for them to finish her different personalities. Unfortunately they gave up on the game when she only had one so I figured I’d jump ship to T.i.T.S. before I got too far behind development.
As for Kiha, after she became a camp follower she wasn’t as fun. I really liked the scenes where you can defeat her in battle then dominate her. After she came to camp she started asserting her own dominance even though I was clearly stronger than her. I wasn’t able to make her go back to the way she was so I just ignored her. I would have reverted my save but I had done a lot of grinding by then so I didn’t want all my hard work to go to waste.
Well Fen, I loved your story. Monsters, like minotaurs, are a personal fav of mine. But, I can understand how discouraging it can be to not have your writing visibly appreciated. I’ll remember that in the future, and show my appreciation for that man on man loving I crave from you and your talented crew. Enjoy the con.
The game NEEDS more male content, reason why so few cared was because it ain’t about our Steele. It’s fine if you want to write about your OCs or “self-insertions” but to you can’t honestly expect people to get excited about something that is quite obviously almost exclusively personal to you.

Its best to not presume. In all honestly, Bovine creatures aren’t the most popular things in the fandom. Male or female, most folk just aren’t into them. So that would be one reason it didn’t get much attention.
Another reason is that it wasn’t Steele. Most people are invested in him or basically anything related to the game. If its not, then by default, its not going to get much attention. People here are mostly here for the game.
And to touch back on the presuming bit, it would probably help if you did a poll with your Patreons to see what your supporters would like. Getting a rough idea is way better than trying to play psychic.

May I please use Bothroic and Nyrea as names for characters in my story. I plan on giving credit but I may forget as I have been writing this for 8 years so far. I just don’t want to get it copyright striked if I do release it as a book.
Depends on the story, if it’s for profit, etc. Our general policy is not to allow our work to be used in other commercial ventures without a thorough amount of vetting.
they are just side characters. I just want to use the names and vague descriptions of the races they are based off of. They aren’t mentioned a lot and if I do make it a book I plan on dividing the profit among the people I got inspiration from. I mostly want to make this a book because someone told me they would give me $50 if I make it a real book. I don’t plan to profit from it as it is for fun but if I do get profit I want to donate it all to the people who were able to inspire me. Also. If this happens I can be a backer ;). Buuut it will probably be finished after TiTS is done and Backer won’t be a thing ;-;.
