Hey guys! I just finished up Zeikfried’s Yarasta – a Gildenmere educator at the thollum with some lovely exposition education, the rigors of war, and her own vagina. It even includes threesomes with her girlfriend if you catch her around the 20:00 hour.
I was going to release it as a build for backers, then chase it in a day or two with a public build… but something big happened. Gedan completed the bulk of her combat refactoring, which is somewhat akin to gutting three or four dragons, then sewing the parts together into some kind of necromantic hydra. I’m more than a little scared of it, but it’ll let us string together fights with multiple unique enemies with ease.
Allies can even properly assist as well. I’m talking about group fights. That sound you heard? It was Savin’s boner punching a hole in the bulkheads. The Shade/Kara fight could’ve been built much more nicely using this many-headed code-hydra’s +1 keen claws, and Mander Commander’s lovely next two dungeons should start getting some love as soon as Gedan emerges from her programming-induced hibernation.
One thing I do want to make clear – TiTS is not going to be a party combat game. There might be dungeons where you get a tag-along or two, but it’s more focused on a personal experience than encounters as a group. I hope that’s not too disappointing to anyone, but there’s always FoE to scratch that itch (or Savin’s next project).
Anyway, I’m going to post the experimental .SWF build up on Patreon and TaintedSpace.com for backers – just don’t expect it to work very well. Just wandering around the upper caves on Myrellion I discovered like three to four different crash-inducing bugs with encounters there. You might have to wait an hour or two for it to hit though – gotta clean up some other stuff in the meantime. Deliciousness is posted if you’ve got the privileges to see it.

Yup knew the public build would come mid January to late February hell if it comes out next month i’ll consider it my birthday gift. Mind I love TiTs and tits. Also know things you people are doing is not simple or such.
So when can we expect a public release? A week? Two weeks?
I could do one today, but you’d be stuck with buggy, crashy fights for a month. I’m gonna hold off till we got something a little more reliable. A week sounds like a decent estimate, but no promises!
Why not take two weeks and put it through its paces without having to rush a public build out the door? I’d rather have a solidly stable build out with maybe one example of a group fight instead of waiting another month for it.
As far as the Shade/Kara fight… is there anything stopping you from just going back and recoding the fight to work under the new engine- or the PC/Anno vs. Grey Goo Queen fight? They might serve as good examples of the new engine.
But yes, if there ever was a good reason for a delayed public build, this is one of them. I can’t wait to see what this enables you guys to pull off in the future.
re Shade/Kara: That’s basically what I have done. A lot of the existing fights were based around abuses of what the old system could do, and as far as possible I’ve torn out a lot of the weirdness and replaced it with something more sensible.
So, not only does the actual core of the system need tweaking up to make sure it works appropriately everywhere, but many of the fights themselves have been fiddled too.

Hey fen I’m just wondering, when you said about “tag-along’s” in some dungeons do you mean we can bring some of our crew members into certain dungeons or do we get a temporary follower just for that dungeon?

Personally I’d implement an SOS summon so we get a flavour of party combat outside of dungeons, a silly idea but it’d feed into the idea of the crew doing their own thing whilst you adventure off the ship. Anywho….
The SOS summon would basically call a crew member for emergency aid (you’d have to set who is “on duty” on the ship), they’d turn up in a unique fashion and do something. Celise would be a lust release, Reaha as well. Anno a damager… etc, etc… It’d just be a once a day thing though.
The main reasons that party combat will not be a full-time thing are that the various win/loss scenes would have to account for them, and that even having crewmembers is supposed to be optional (making balancing harem-Steeles with loner-Steeles a bitch). Both also apply to pulling a crewmember out of your ass for one fight.
If your character were big enough, with Celise you could literally pull her out of your ass. :V
Wouldn’t be pulling out of your ass if done right, Anno would probably be off exploring anyway for stuff to analyse for R&D. Celise would probably be doing Celise type things, Reaha would likely be staying on the ship until cured though and same for the droid. It’s more of an idea than anything else right now but it’d be interesting to draw up a crew rota and could give some amusing events.
For instance Celise on ship cleaning only to be found entertaining herself in the supply closet, running into Anno while she on exploration duty for map updates/sexy time, etc, etc.

Things were slower in the early days of CoC, before I went full-time. It was something like a month and a half to get the bee girls added to the game.
That’s 20k for at least 3 people then patreon takes a chunk then taxes set in. He’ll if I had to work and code in my off time I wouldn’t even start a project like this. besides most of us pay like 5-10 bucks a month and the content we get is worth that.
