If you’re using Chrome and having issues opening my games, consider switching to a standalone flash player. Alternatively, you may do the following, but be aware it may leave you vulnerable to flash exploits on other websites in the future.
You need to go to your address bar and type in ” chrome://plugins ” without the quotes. Tell chrome to always allow Adobe Flash Player to run.
Chrome seems to be slowly phasing back their internal flash plugin, resulting in the browser behaving as if it cannot open some flash files. I hope this helps!
Note: This leaves open to any flash-based browser exploits that may surface in the future.
Oh, and I wrote like 4,000+ 5000+ words of stuff today. Woo.
I’ve just switched over to using the stand-alone flash projector.
https://www.adobe.com/support/flashplayer/debug_downloads.html
Scroll down and get the plain projector for your OS. That works like a champ, provided you’ve got the .swf saved locally.
Do you know where is the save location for the plain projector?
They’re at:
%appdata%\Macromedia\Flash Player\#SharedObjects\[RANDOM STRING]\localhost
Hey Fenoxo can we have a public build out soon please….
As a fellow moocher, I feel your pain, but be patient. Our time will come, and it will be filled with Herms with huge tits and…other things with huge tits.
It will be glorious my friend.
Public builds come out near the start of the month.
And absolutely no warnings about the dangers of doing this?
I had this problem a few times and had to go into the Chrome settings and enable the Adoble Flash plug in.
Been wondering, is there any word about the wiki’s being updated on Smutosaur? It was a great site to look up details for mutations, equipment and even a few fixes such as this. Curious why it stopped.
People aren’t updating it as frequently, I guess. You could always chip in and do it yourself.
Hey Fen! Did you hear about the Cloudflare leak? It also effects Patreon passwords, reddit, discord and more sites.
Thanks Fen for the advice i done this and all my stuff opens now. Thank you ^^
It’s not just Chrome. Safari is having issues with the reading of the .swf files for ANY of the TiTS builds. I have not just the current one, but from several months ago, in the 6.whatever range, and NONE of the .swf files are able to be opened up in Safari. I miss the old .html files. >.>!
This is really bad advice though :/
You want to poke the icon in your address bar (puzzle piece with an X on it) and then run all plugins this time, or add an exception to allow them on specific domains. That way next time a zero day flash exploit is discovered you’re not leaving the door wide open.
As flash becomes closer and closer to being a deprecated technology, this is going to start becoming more prevalent. Have there been thoughts about converting the code away from flash? I know this would be a huge undertaking that would likely include months of work without much additional content being made, so a rough decision to make either way you go. Just thought I’d ask to see if it’s been considered.
THANK YOU!
It works!
As mentioned earlier, it could be an idea to switch to an other code.
HTML 5 might be one of the best alternatives, though, as also mentioned earlier, it would take some time to convert everything, maybe even rewrite stuff.
Suggestion would be to look into it, see what the possibilities are.
Though I doubt TiTS will harm my PC/browser through the use of Flash, it will only cause ‘harm’ in my brain. XD
Or people could just use standalone flash players. A lot easier and more sensible than recoding the whole fucking game.
Solution: Everyone on Windows OS architecture could move from Chrome to Firefox, which doesn’t have any of the problems Chrome is having. (Unless all the people having the problem are Chrome users on Macs, and none of the Chrome users on Windows are affected… Then feel free to ignore me spouting this then useless information, since it’d be impossible for me to delete this after posting it.)
Firefox is doing the same thing, potentially. The issue is it’s not just a global “disable flash”, but some stupid fucking staged progression of disabling support for it, so we get instances where it might work for somebody right now, but it won’t tomorrow or the week after- and not because their browser has updated either.
Adobe is deprecating flash globally (finally), the major browsers all said a while back they were going to phase it out completely. For now the standalone players are really the only viable solution, but even those are going to become legacy.
I have no issues in chrome so I dunno what everyone is on about O.o
For now though if you don’t want to use the standalones a refresh tends to work, at least on tabs with just the game swf and no wrapper. Basically the same as clicking the option for loading a flash in websites.
